AIRPORT LOCATION AND ACCESS
The Beaumont Municipal Airport serves the City of Beaumont and residents of northern Jefferson County, which is the county seat. Beaumont is situated approximately 85 miles from Houston, Texas, 60 miles from Lake Charles, Louisiana, 30 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico. The City is bordered on the east by the Neches River and to the north by the Pine Island Bayou. With the cities of Orange and Port Arthur to the east and south respectively, these three cities form a major oil and exploration industrial area for the Gulf Coast. Interstate 10 serves Beaumont and links Houston, New Orleans, Lake Charles and other points in between.
Jefferson County is located on the plains of the Texas Gulf Coast in the southeastern part of the state and is surrounded by five other counties. The county is bounded on the north by the Pine Island Bayou, on the northeast by the Neches River, and on the east by Sabine Lake and the mouth of the Sabine River. The southern part of the county is largely marshland, much of which is contained within Sea Rim State Park. Ten major highways, including Interstate 10, serve the southeastern region.
The Airport is located within the city limits of Beaumont at 455 Keith Road, approximately six miles west of city center, immediately north of intersection U.S. Highway 90 (or College Street) and Keith Road. The airport is comprised of approximately 250 acres and is bounded by residential neighborhoods, industry, railroads and roadways. Airport access can be gained by exiting U.S. Highway 90 onto Keith Road or from Phelan Boulevard onto Keith Road to the airport entrance road leading to the terminal building. All facilities are located on the east side of the airport along Keith Road.
